Davison Township was founded in 1840 and is a general law township that operates under state law and township ordinances.  The township is governed by a five-member board that includes the supervisor, clerk, treasurer and two trustees, all of whom are elected every four years on a partisan basis.  The 2000 census shows our population at 17,772 and 14,943 registered voters.  Davison Township is 34 square miles and the total taxable property value is $596,720,737.

The Census Bureau is in the area collecting information for the 2010 Census.  The study is from April 20, 2009 - July 1, 2009.  They will have identification on them if you have any questions.  They are only mapping the area at this time, the research with questions about how many people are living at your address will come at a later date.  If you feel uncomfortable please call the Township at 810-653-4156 or the Police at 810-653-5656 during business hours.
