Assessing Department: It is the primary responsibility of the Assessing Department to inventory and list all property within the assessment jurisdiction, calculate the assessed, taxable and capped values for all property, and prepare a yearly assessment roll.  Also, to keep up-to-date

assessment cards, and maps.

 

 

 

Building Department: The Building Department is responsible for all permits, except burning, and all related items such as inspections, building notices, signs, site plans, ordinances, land combination and splits, plat information, and zoning information.

 

Clerk's Department: The Clerks department is responsible for maintaining custody of all township records, maintaining the general ledger, preparing township checks, recording and maintaining township meeting minutes, keeping the township's book of oaths, posting meeting notices, publishing board meeting minutes, keeping voter registration file and conducting all elections, keeping township ordinance books, preparing financial statements, delivering tax certificates to the Supervisor and County Clerk.

 

Fire Department: The function of the Fire Department is to save lives, property and make a better and safer community. They have been in operation for over 110 years covering Davison Township,  Richfield Township and The City of Davison.  Which is 72  square miles, with approximately 30,000 residents, and responding to over 450 calls per year, including 42 medical responses. 

Police Department: The function of the Police Department is to protect and serve. With a crime rate that consistently is well below many other communities in the area, in Davison Township, one can get out and about to enjoy the community.  Davison Township has their own full-time police force.

Supervisor's Department:  The Supervisor's office is responsible for seeing that all laws and Township Ordinances are enforced, the chief assessing officer, to manage and supervise all public improvements, works and undertakings of the township, to have charge of the construction, preparing the annual budget, police and fire services, in any public utility franchise (or any contract) are faithfully kept and performed, to attend all township board meetings, to act as the purchasing agent for the township, to conduct all sales of personal property that the township board may authorize to be sold.

Treasury Department: The Treasury Department is responsible for collecting real and personal property taxes, receipting for township expenditures, depositing township revenues in approved depositories, investing township funds in approved investment vehicles, the sale of dog licenses during December, January, and February.
